The Food Chain

We buried a family member today. That dreaded cancer killed off another person who was in the prime of his life and nearing retirement.
Cancer is running rampid, the battle is being lost. When you think of all the money that has gone into the No Smoking campaign; consider there are less smokers today but more deaths from cancer. What is being missed?

My personal opinion is that the real cause is in the food we eat, along with the air we breathe. Chemicals are killing us.
There is more preservatives, hormones and flavour enhancers in our food than ever before. Beef are inoculated to grow faster, chickens are fed medicated feed to help them put on weight or produce more eggs, milk does not go sour after 2 days it goes rotten after 2 weeks. An apple a day keeps the doctor away. More than likely keeping the doctors busy. That apple is sprayed with pesticide every 7 days to make it worm free and spot free and it is sprayed with some pretty strong pesticides. We don't have a clue what other countries are spraying but we sure like those imported foods.

We only want the best and nicest looking fruits and vegetables. Chemicals are left up to a farmer to determine how much to spray to get us perfect looking fruit. On the package it may say, don't spray within ten days of harvest. But if the crop is being eaten up with bugs and the farmer is about to lose his pocket book, What do you think the decision will be? We are paying the price with our lives by demanding perfection.

Those prepared and packaged meals in the grocery store are full of flavour enhancers & preservatives. Most of the new generation don't even remember what good food tastes like. Cancers are not as prevalent in some countries because they grow their own with out the help of big companies and their chemicals.

We are what we eat, make no mistake about it.

Immigration and the Criminals Within

A recent W5 story makes one wonder, is this country managed by nothing but deceit? W5’s story about immigration & criminals may not be a 100% accurate but this is not as important as the government accountability.
First we have Paul Martin denying what his government knew about corruption and now we have Alain Bellecoeur hiding from the camera like a worm in a hole; avoiding an explanation to the public….to the taxpayer.

If something is broke, then fix it. If you can’t recognize a problem and deal with it; then the truth is being hidden. Alan Bellecoeur refusal to answer to the taxpayer is inexcusable behavior.

Do we want officials that won’t be accountable? Has the Government of Canada become a legalized Mafia? The W5 story has brought up so many concerns; I hope they will pursue this problem farther.

Prime Minister Harper has a opportunity to show he is concerned for the safety of our citizens and the country.
A good start would be to fire Alain Bellecoeur and put in a management team that is accountable. The government should also revamp the immigration laws. It is time to remove criminals from Canadian soil and stop playing a numbers came and covering up the truths of a broken system.

What we don’t need is Alain Bellecoeur sneaking into corners like a little rodent to avoid the camera and the accountability to the people who pay his salary.
